The First Public Display of HPEV’s MG technology in Indianapolis, March 4-6
(Tampa, FL: January 22, 2015) HPEV, Inc. (OTCQB:WARM), an innovator in energy efficiency and thermal dispersion technologies, announced today that it will unveil its proprietary Mobile Generation (MG) technology at the industry’s premier demonstration convention, The Work Truck Show, put on by The Association for the Work Truck Industry, in Indianapolis, IN, March 4-6.
The MG is a breakthrough in energy efficiency technology in that it utilizes a truck’s own power to generate power for compressors, welders, bucket truck arms, or even homes left powerless after a storm. All of this power is built right into the truck, nothing to tow and no environmental issues that accompany tow-behind generators. The technology is fuel agnostic and therefore can significantly reduce a truck’s carbon footprint. The technology can be driven on CNG (compressed natural gas), LNG (liquid natural gas), Fuel Cell, standard gasoline and diesel. The technology can provide power, up to 200kWh, in no idle zones and anywhere a truck can go. The technology also reduces fuel usage because there is no need to tow a trailer.
Customers will have necessary power at worksites (construction equipment, utility work trucks, refrigerated trucks, etc.) without having to rely on heavy and costly tow-behind generators. The HPEV MG generates the same power as most tow-behind generators and is usable anytime and anywhere as the MG is built into their existing trucks.
“We will have a demonstration MG unit at the Show and we believe this technology will make an immediate splash and actually expand the market for mobile power because truck fleets that might not otherwise have pulled tow-behind generators can now, at a relatively low competitive price, take power with them without a trailer,” noted Timothy Hassett, HPEV’s CEO and co-founder. “We will have live demonstrations at the Show and accept customer orders.”
“The Work Truck show gives us the perfect stage to share our ambition of ushering in a new era of environmentally friendly mobile power,” added Theodore Banzhaf, President of HPEV.
HPEV and its manufacturing partner, Inverom have incorporated the Emerson (NYSE:EMR) alternators with HPEV’s patent-pending Parallel Power Input Gearing (PPIG) system to create a mobile generation system that puts out the same power as many of the heavy tow behind generators at less than half of the weight of these legacy units. HPEV management believes that the MG has the potential to take significant market share in the multi-billion dollar mobile generator market with its unique “built-in” MG system.
The current HPEV product offering ranges from 25kVa to 200kVa with up to 400kVa expected to be available in 2016. The HPEV systems are built on synchronous generators and incorporate HPEV’s patented thermal dispersion technology which increases the generator’s power density and reduces its weight well below competitive offerings. The tow behind generators offered in the marketplace today weigh up to 6,500 pounds and, when towed by a Ford F350, can reach towing capacity and eliminate the ability to carry anything in the bed of the truck. With The HPEV system there is nothing to tow and the truck bed is fully usable to carry equipment or cargo. Unlike tow behind and bed mounted generators, HPEV’s MG is much better for the environment because it doesn’t require a second engine to drive the generator. HPEV powers the generator from the vehicle engine which is more highly regulated for emission control than tow behind generator engines. Because of this, the HPEV system won’t be affected by the EPA’s emission restrictions on diesel engines.
